Join us for a guided tour of the Delaware Botanic Gardens, a 37-acre showcase of native plant horticulture and ecological landscaping along the coastal plain. This exclusive tour will highlight the garden’s innovative use of native species in both formal and naturalistic settings. Ideal inspiration for contractors focused on sustainable and habitat-supportive design.

Key features include:

  • The Piet Oudolf Meadow – A 2-acre matrix of native grasses and perennials designed by world-renowned plantsman Piet Oudolf. In October, expect to see rich fall textures, seed heads, and pollinator-friendly blooms that extend seasonal interest and ecological value.
  • Woodland Gardens – A 12.5-acre sloped forest with freshwater wetlands, showcasing native ferns, mosses, and understory species that thrive in shaded, moist environments. This area also includes a rare bog habitat supporting endangered native plants.
  • Pepper Creek Overlook – A tidal wetland habitat along 1,000 feet of shoreline, offering insight into riparian planting strategies and native shoreline stabilization.

The tour will emphasize plant selection, habitat creation, and design strategies relevant to the Delmarva region. Attendees are welcome to stay after the tour to explore the gardens further or network with peers.
