Sustainable Landscape Maintenance Manual

The CBLP maintenance manual is the first comprehensive resource on sustainable landscape management planning and techniques which is specific to the Chesapeake Bay region.  Written for the landscape professional audience, the manual is a key reference for CBLP Level 1 training. New and updated for 2025!

White Paper on Green Infrastructure Maintenance

This white paper examines the challenges and opportunities associated with maintaining green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Developed by the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and Hirschman Water & Environment. Development of this white paper was supported by funding from the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) program  in 2026 and is available free to download.

A Focus on Sustainability Webinar Series

CCLC is excited to host a webinar series geared to professionals about sustainable landscapes and all the issues that surround this important subject. The series is being presented by the Ecological Landscaping Association (ELA), the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council (CCLC), Midwest Ecological Landscape Alliance (MELA), & EcoLandscape California (ELC). Known regionally for their quality education programs, these organizations are working cooperatively to share knowledge and encourage conversations with landscape professionals from around the country and the globe.

These interactive webinars are taught by experts from across the country. Topics covered in this series include a deeper look into soils, native & invasive plants, water management, sustainable landscaping & maintenance, organic lawn care, how sustainable practices can be good for business, and why being sustainable is a healthy landscaping option.
